Spring & Summer Style at Molly Green

For as long as I can remember, I’ve secretly wished Molly Green had a store inside an old gas station.

There’s something about that golden southern garage light — structured and industrial, but warm at the same time. Grit and glow. Toolboxes and florals. It feels luxurious to me, like a gold velvet hug.

So this spring, we leaned in.

We set our newest photoshoot inside a vintage mechanic shop and built a curated collection of soft, wearable, sporty, and feminine styles around that contrast — because style, at least for me, always works best in juxtaposition.

Khaki and red.
Denim and silk.
Toolboxes and floral arrangements.

This post is a behind-the-scenes look at how our Spring/Summer collection, Petal to the Metal, came together — and how you can bring this energy into your everyday wardrobe without starting from scratch (though once you see the new arrivals, you might want to 😉).

The Energy Behind This Season

Spring and summer at Molly Green always carry a little road trip energy.

Windows down. Hair in the wind. A bag tossed in the backseat. Stopping for a soda. Or because someone has to pee in a field. Or because you spotted wildflowers and just had to pull over.

That carefree, fully alive feeling is the heartbeat behind this year’s Spring/Summer women’s clothing collection — designed for movement, adventure, and real life.

How Petal to the Metal Was Born

Our seasonal themes usually begin at market, when the pieces start stacking up in ways that just feel right.

This time, it started with a sweater featuring a tiny car. Then denim shorts with racing stripes. Then bold red moments. A green floral dress that felt strong instead of sweet.

Before anyone officially named it, the vision was already forming.

Petal to the Metal.

Feel-good looks for an adventurous season — feminine but grounded, sporty but polished, bold but completely wearable.

What Is “Petal to the Metal” Style?

It’s softness with strength.

Florals styled with bold red.
Polka dots paired with structured jackets.
Flowy spring dresses grounded with denim.
Feminine silhouettes mixed with clean, tailored lines.

This season at Molly Green is playful — but not precious. Statement-making — but easy to wear.

Designed for:
• Weekend road trips
• Vacation outfits
• Summer concerts
• Dinner downtown
• Everyday errands that deserve a little intention

How to Dress Petal to the Metal

(Without Buying a Whole New Closet)

You don’t need to reinvent your wardrobe to step into this mood. Start with one intentional move.

1. Start With a Statement Piece

Choose one hero item:
• A bold red skirt
• A green floral midi dress
• A racing stripe sweater
• A polka dot blouse
• A standout patterned top

Let that piece lead the outfit.

Statement pieces are what make summer outfits feel intentional — even when everything else stays simple.

2. Ground It With Neutrals

Camel jackets.
Cream tanks.
Straight-leg denim.
Warm white tops.

Neutrals balance bold colors and make bright pieces feel timeless.

If you already own a great denim jacket or ivory blouse, you’re halfway there.

3. Mix Feminine and Structured

This is the real secret.

Pair:
• A romantic floral dress with a utility or canvas jacket
• A flowy skirt with a fitted tank
• A bold patterned blouse with classic denim

The contrast keeps the look modern and confident — never overly styled.

4. Embrace Color (Even Just a Little)

This season leans into:

Red
Racing green
Royal and navy blue
Butter yellow
Warm neutrals

If you’re color-shy, start small — a red lip, a bold skirt with a neutral top, or a colorful blouse layered under a structured jacket.

You don’t need all the color. Just enough to feel the energy.

5. Add One Intentional Detail

Chunky gold jewelry.
A sleek belt.
Statement sunglasses.
A scarf in your hair.

One thoughtful detail transforms everyday women’s clothing into a styled summer outfit.

Why This Collection Works for Real Life

The silhouettes are classic. The colors are confident.

That combination makes these pieces easy to wear — whether you’re packing for vacation, exploring Nashville, refreshing your spring wardrobe, or simply looking for something that makes getting dressed feel fun again.

Petal to the Metal isn’t about dressing up.

It’s about dressing like you have somewhere fun to be.

Even if that somewhere is just coffee with a friend.

And that feels very Molly Green.

Windows down. Flowers in hand. Let’s go. 🌼🏁
