Bonjour, fellow fashionistas! I’m Kelsey, a 31 year old social media manager here at Molly Green who’s obsessed with Paris. A mere 8 year old little girl dream skyrocketed when I finally visited the city in 2022. Now, in just a few weeks I have the honor of stepping on her cobblestones again. I’ve spent a lot of time planning and thought I’d write this as an easy guide with links on what to prepare for. Are you ready to jet off to the land of croissants, chic cafes, and haute couture?

Let’s start with items + objects you can’t forget:

  • Plug Adapter: That’s right, your everyday plug ins are a bit different in France. So be sure to bring the right adapter to use your phone, hair tools, etc. Buying them before arrival will save you some mula.
  • Compact umbrella: We’ve all heard it before… “Paris in the rain” but depending on the time of year you visit, an umbrella may not be necessary. I suggest an umbrella that can fit in your purse. So you’re ready for anything!
  • Passport Wallet: One of the worst feelings is thinking you forgot something important at home. I suggest getting a passport wallet that can hold all of your documents, ID & money, making it easy to find.
  • Comfortable Shoes: You’ll be walking miles and miles every day in this city. Although outfits are important, a whole day can be ruined if your feet are uncomfortable. I suggest bringing your (a bit) worn in sneakers or comfiest loafers on the strolling through the streets of Montmarte or the Seine River days.
  • Blister Bandages: backpacking off comfortable shoes, you can give yourself extra protection with these ankle and foot guards.
  • Purses with a top zipper closure: The Economist-sponsored “Safe Cities” report for 2021 ranked Paris as the 23rd-safest major city in the world out of 60– making it almost exactly middling. Pick pocketing sounds scary but they won’t bother you, they just want your stuff. These are professionals. Giving them access to your belongings is a huge no. I made sure to always have my phone in my bag around populated areas and choosing a purse that’s not easy to access into. I suggest a purse with a fold over closure or zipper. NEVER have your belongings on your back.

Ok ok ok let’s talk fashion now!!!

  •  Pack a selection of versatile dresses that can take you from exploring historic cobblestone streets to sipping wine at a quaint bistro. Opt for breathable fabrics like cotton or linen for maximum comfort without compromising on style. I'm personally taking the Dora Polka Dot Dress with me :)
  • Effortlessly Chic Tops: Mix and match tops that exude effortless French style. Think classic striped tops, breezy blouses, and lightweight knits that can be paired with jeans, skirts, or trousers for endless outfit combinations. Look for pieces with interesting details like ruffles, embroidery, or subtle prints to add flair to your ensemble.
  • Tailored Bottoms: Invest in well-fitted bottoms that offer both style and comfort. Pack a couple of pairs of high-waisted jeans or tailored trousers that you can dress up or down effortlessly. May I suggest the Far Out Straight Leg Denim for ultimate comfort and a classy look.
  • Layering Pieces: France's weather can be unpredictable, so layering is key. Bring along a lightweight trench coat or a stylish blazer that can elevate your outfits while providing warmth when needed. Don't forget to pack a few versatile scarves or shawls that can add a pop of color and texture to your ensemble.
  • Statement Accessories: Elevate your look with statement accessories that showcase your personal style. Pack a selection of chic sunglasses, a classic leather handbag (with top zipper!), and delicate jewelry pieces that can effortlessly transition from day to night. A stylish hat or beret can also add a touch of Parisian flair to your outfits.
  • Comfortable Loungewear: While exploring the bustling streets of France is exhilarating, downtime calls for comfortable loungewear. Pack a few cozy yet stylish loungewear sets that you can relax in after a long day of sightseeing and for the long plane ride.
