Charlotte and I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Gift Mart last week in Atlanta! It was a new experience for me because I had never been to the Atlanta Mart before. We went because if you didn't know we are opening up our fourth store in Nashville at Hillsboro Village! In this store, we are looking to expand our gift and home section so this was the perfect opportunity to go to the gift mart. If you have been to the mart in Atlanta you know how overwhelming it is. There are 3 buildings that are filled top to bottom with showrooms and temporary showrooms. I think we hit our step goal both days we were walking around the mart. They have every piece of home decor that you could imagine. All of the showrooms were all beautifully merchandised and it was so fun to get to wander through them. The notable brands that were at the mart were Bando, Kate Spade, Rifle Paper co., Swil, Corkcicle, and many more. I had fun getting to talk to the vendor representative and getting to see what being a buyer is like. If you are interested in being a buyer I think that going to the mart is a great experience because you get to see one of the fun sides of going out and buying for a store. I also found it interesting how big the home decor and gift market is, I never imagined that there would be so many vendors for that specific category. After we got back from market we met with Brittany and discussed our favorite items from the market. You might get to see some of the brands in a Molly Green store soon! I really enjoyed getting to experience the Atlanta market for the first time and see some of the work that goes into being a buyer. I would definitely recommend going to any future MG interns!
