Getting to Know Heather!
What's your position at MG? What does that mean for you?
Ok, so my official title is Visual Merchandising Director but I think I should file myself under jack of *most* trades. My main job is to create stories within the walls of each Molly Green by understanding current and future trends and putting that into a display that makes people feel extra happy when they come in to shop. Other things I do are: keep stores stocked based on sales and data, make the playlists for the stores, style our web shoots, choose color stories, and just a lot of other random things!!
How did you get started at Molly Green?
Seriously I found this job posted on Craigslist in 2015 when the first MG in Nashville was about to open. I started as an ASM in Cool Springs. I'll never forget when I was offered the position to be MG's visual merchandiser.. literal tears of joy.
What do you like most about your job?
Ooh oooh!! I love, love, love having total creative energy everyday in my job. It's a dream to be in the position I'm with the people I work with. There's too many great things... *insert heart eyes here*
What is your least favorite part?
Oh jeez, I don't know... If we have to move the Green Hills store for a 5th time that would probably be my least favorite thing haha!
Favorite MG memory?
I have 5 million memories of MG and this question is too hard to answer... I could truly write a book and I'm getting all emotional trying to choose just one memory.. so let's just say my fav memory was my interview that began this journey, I was wearing horseshoe earrings for good luck, cause without that memory I wouldn't have any more.
Favorite item you've gotten from MG?
I have these giant acrylic hoop earrings (in 3 colors) I wear probably way too much... if you know me, you have seen me in those things.
How would you describe your personal style?
My style changes depending on the weather and the day. I don't think I have one certain style and I think that comes from a background in merchandising. I wear what I feel great in and it's as simple as that I think.
What inspires you?
Color! Being surrounded by bright and bold colors get my juices flowing.
What is something strange about you? ALT: Do you have a secret talent?
I seem to know all the words to every song ever and I don't even understand how I do that..
What is something not a lot of people know about you that you wish they did? ALT: Do you have a party trick? If so, what is it?
I don't really have a party trick... but when there's a party, you bet I'll be dancin'! Maybe that counts a party trick enough...?
When you're not at MG what are you doing?
Mostly hanging at home with the fam or redecorating a part of the house. Yes, I redecorate areas of my house as often as I merchandise a store.
Do you have anything you want to promote?
My partner, Doc, is equally as creative as I am and can build amazing pieces of artwork or furniture out of any kind of wood. Actually, most of the wooden things at MG have been made by him. So, if you need anything built, he's your guy!
Favorite thing you've done recently?
I've taken up yoga and that has truly been a life-changer. I recommend it to everyone and now I totally see what all the hype is about.

What do you love about Nashville?
Nashville has been my home for over 10 years and it's so much more to me than a growing city or a landing pad for bachelorettes. I love everything about Nashville... yes, even downtown..ok?
