WIN A SHOPPING SPREE TO MOLLY GREEN

PLUS, read until the very end because Molly Green is giving away a $1000 shopping spree for a capsule wardrobe to ONE lucky winner!**

So what is a capsule wardrobe?

I’m so glad you asked! Caroline Rector of Un_Fancy, it the creative mastermind and the authority on the capsule wardrobe movement. The idea is simple: you pare your wardrobe down to a certain number of items (Rector suggests 37, but the number is really up to you, but the less, the better), and then you wear only those items for the season.

The capsule wardrobe items should include wardrobe staples: denim, great basics, etc., and a few seasonal items.

Why a capsule wardrobe? Rector says, “To me, a capsule wardrobe represents more time and energy for what really matters (less time spent deciding what to wear / less time spent shopping / less time doing laundry or caring for clothes) more money for our dreams + helping others (less money spent on clothes that never get worn) and more contentment and happiness.”

How to start your own:

Rector has a five-step approach to building your own capsule wardrobe.

  1. Pare down your closet to 37 items.
  2. Wear only those 37 items for three months.
  3. Don’t go shopping during the season until…
  4. During the last two weeks of the season, plan and shop for your next capsule.
  5. The amount you buy for the next capsule is up to you, but less is more.

Check out Rector’s additional tips and rules for paring down your closet.
