What’s happening in Chattanooga? Fun events in late May & June?
There’s always something happening in Chattanooga! Especially in the summer! Did you know that Chattanooga has been voted “Best Town Ever”, by Outside magazine twice? Or that it’s been named one of the “45 places to go”, in the world by the New York Times? The MG crew wants you to have the best summer ever in Chattanooga and these are some of the best ways of doing just that! We hope to see you there!
The Riverbend Festival: May 29th- June 1st
The Riverbend Festival, named for the bend in the Tennessee River, started in the summer of 1982 as a five-night festival in Chattanooga Tennessee. They are now celebrating over 35 years as one of Chattanooga’s most beloved events. The festival itself has evolved into four nights and ranks in the top 10% of all American festivals. You can still purchase General Admission-Tier 4 tickets for $75 on their website. These tickets grant you access to all 4 stages at the Riverbend Festival from May 29th- June 1st. If you wait to purchase at the gate, the price jumps to $115 for a 4-day pass. Children 5 and under are admitted free with an adult. Headliners include: Weezer, Lionel Richie, Keith Urban, and Macklemore. If you just wish to watch one headliner, you can purchase Single Day General Admission tickets for any of the 4 headliners. These tickets cost $55 on the website and will jump to $65 at the gate.

Chattanooga Street Food Festival: May 25th & May 26th / First Tennessee Pavilion
The Chattanooga Street Food Festival is an event offering the chance to indulge in a mixture of cultural foods sure to please any taste palette. If you’re a foodie at heart, you definitely don’t want to miss this! Admission to the street food festival is free! On Saturday, May 25th, the only event is the festival. Plan on enjoying a large variety of food trucks from all over Tennessee. On Sunday, the 26th, both the festival and market will be happening. Come and enjoy a selection of food trucks alongside your favorite Sunday Market. There will also be a Strawberry Festival happening at the same location on June 2nd!
The Ice Cream Safari- June 8, 2019 (4 pm – 7 pm)
The Chattanooga Zoo is once again hosting their annual Ice Cream Safari event. The afternoon will consist of sampling delicious sweet treats from a variety of vendors and loads of family-friendly fun! You can purchase tickets online now. Adult tickets are $10, while children (ages 3-12) are $7. Children aged 2 and under are free. You can also purchase all you can eat ice cream wristbands for $5 prior to event online or in the zoo gift shop. Wristbands the day of, if not sold out, will be available for purchase for $8. Events of the Ice Cream Safari include animal meet & greets, education stations, games, crafts, face painting, camel feedings, Zoo Choo Train Rides, Zoo Gift Shop, and Wild Burger.

Chattanooga’s Colors of Cancer Festival and 10K/1-Mile Walk- June 15th, 2019/8:00 am- 1:00 pm
The Green
The American Cancer Society invites the community to join the fight against cancer by participating in the Chattanooga Colors of Cancer 10k/1-Mile run. Registration fees vary based on the event you are participating in. The 1-Mile event registration costs $35, while the 10K costs $40. This registration fee is non-refundable, but counts towards your fundraising goal! Not into running? Come join the celebrations at the festival! If you plan on just attending the festival, there is free general admission. Events at the festival include live music, food trucks, beer garden, vendors, kids’ activities, survivor recognition, caregiver recognition, and ambassador medal ceremony.
